Factory Strength and Product Applications
Factory Strength and Product Applications
Alishan Diamond is built around CVD diamond growth technology and advanced diamond materials engineering. We continue to develop vertically integrated capabilities spanning diamond crystal growth, material preparation, precision processing, surface treatment, and end-use application development.
Our products have expanded from traditional jewelry-grade CVD diamond rough, to high-end industrial-grade and functional diamond materials. Based on the needs of different industries, we develop the application value of diamond's thermal, optical, electrical, mechanical, and quantum properties.
In response to the high power density and thermal management challenges driven by the rapid development of AI and high-performance computing, Alishan Diamond is actively investing in the R&D and manufacturing of high-thermal-conductivity CVD diamond materials. We apply diamond's outstanding material properties—including thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, low thermal expansion, high hardness, and environmental stability—to cutting-edge industries such as AI / HPC high-performance computing, semiconductors, advanced packaging, GPU / CPU / ASIC thermal management, GaN / SiC high-power devices, optoelectronics and lasers, RF / Microwave, precision machining, and quantum technology.
From Material Growth to Advanced Applications
Starting from Alishan and looking toward global markets, we are building Taiwan's advanced functional diamond materials industry.
Our Product Series
Jewelry-Grade Rough & Polished Diamonds
Gem-grade CVD white diamond rough and various polished colored diamonds, with chemical and physical properties nearly identical to natural diamonds, supplied to jewelry cutting and polishing manufacturers for subsequent faceting design and polishing.
Seed Grade
The essential starting material for diamond epitaxial growth, available in a range of sizes and crystallographic orientations to meet the growth requirements of different epitaxial processes.
Tool Grade
Includes single-crystal / polycrystalline diamond cutting tool tips, tool blanks, long-edge blanks, dresser blanks, and wire-drawing die blanks. These upstream materials serve the precision cutting, dressing, and wire-drawing die industries. They are particularly suitable for machining ceramics and composite materials, including turning tools, milling cutters, drills, cleaving blades, chamfering tools, and tapping tools.
Diamond Substrates
Various diamond substrates, including single-crystal (SDN series), polycrystalline (PDC/PDD series), and composite die-cast types, with thermal conductivity of up to more than 2200 W/m·K. These are core materials for thermal management in high-power devices.
Window Plates
High-hardness, high-thermal-conductivity diamond optical window substrates that stabilize the operating temperature of high-power laser diodes and are used in high-frequency / high-power microwave transmission systems.
Diamond Patterning
1. Precision laser micromachining is used to ablate functional microstructures such as micro-channels on the surface of diamond substrates or films, enabling rapid customization and pattern prototyping without a photomask. Micro-channel designs enhance the active cooling efficiency of high-power devices, upgrading diamond from a homogeneous heat-spreading substrate to a structural component with active cooling functions. This is suitable for thermal management applications involving high power density and concentrated localized hot spots.
2. Laser micromachining is used to ablate regularly arranged patterned microstructure arrays on the diamond surface, such as conical protrusions or specific geometric cutting patterns. This replaces the conventional sintering method using randomly distributed diamond particles to produce diamond pads for CMP pad conditioners.
Diamond Metallization
Because diamond is highly chemically inert and difficult to bond directly with metals, transition layers such as chromium (Cr) and titanium (Ti), combined with vacuum brazing / sintering technology, are used to form a stable metallized layer on the diamond surface. This enables diamond heat-spreading substrates, composite materials, and tool tips to be reliably bonded to chips, package carriers, or tool bodies. It is an indispensable key pretreatment process for applications including diamond heat sinks, Cu-Diamond composites, and diamond tool inserts.
Copper-Diamond Composite Plates
Combining copper's high electrical conductivity with diamond's high thermal conductivity, these materials achieve thermal conductivity of 500~800 W/m·K, with the coefficient of thermal expansion adjustable to meet specific requirements. They are suitable for high-power semiconductor packaging applications.
