Alishan Diamond
ALISHAN DIAMOND

Alishan Diamond

Near Alishan lies a simple, humble village, home to a group of dedicated young people who share a passion for diamonds and dream of using diamonds to make their mark on the world.

Just like their ancestors who once crossed the sea from Tangshan to Taiwan in search of a better dream and a brighter future, these young people are driven by the same spirit of adventure and hope.

Led by Dr. Chih-Hsueh Yen, the first person in the world to successfully grow a white CVD diamond, this group combines advanced technology with Taiwan's natural resources—pure mountains, clean water, sunlight, technology, and time—to nurture brilliant diamonds. We call them “Alishan Diamonds.”

NEW DEFINITION

Giving Diamonds
a New Definition

Alishan Diamond avoids the ethical conflicts associated with traditional diamond mining, including exploitation, oppression, conflict, violence, and the issue of blood diamonds.

At the same time, we place great importance on environmental responsibility and sustainability, hoping to contribute to a healthier planet that can thrive for generations to come. In doing so, we give diamonds a new meaning and a new definition.

Alishan Diamond represents “Abundance,” “Commitment,” and “Eternity.”
LAB GROWN DIAMOND

What Is a
“Lab-Grown Diamond”?

Lab-grown diamonds are also commonly referred to as synthetic diamonds, cultivated diamonds, future diamonds, technological diamonds, or eco-friendly diamonds.

HPHT High Pressure High Temperature

For hundreds of years, people have continued to explore ways to create diamonds artificially. After countless studies, experiments, and failures, technologies were eventually developed to produce diamonds in a laboratory environment.

CVD Chemical Vapor Deposition

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) is one of the key technologies used to grow diamonds in laboratories today. Through controlled gases and a precisely regulated environment, carbon atoms gradually deposit onto a diamond seed, allowing a diamond crystal to grow layer by layer.

LAB GROWN VS NATURAL

How Are Lab-Grown Diamonds
Different from Natural Diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds share a high degree of similarity in appearance, chemical composition, and physical and chemical properties. The primary difference lies in how they are formed.

Natural Diamonds Natural diamonds form deep within the Earth through natural geological processes over long periods of time and are subsequently recovered through mining.
Lab-Grown Diamonds Lab-grown diamonds are produced using technologies such as HPHT or CVD in a laboratory, where the conditions required for diamond growth are carefully simulated and controlled.
The Same Core Composition Lab-grown diamonds are also composed of carbon atoms arranged in a diamond crystal structure, giving them the fundamental physical and chemical properties of diamond.
Professional Identification Is Required Because lab-grown and natural diamonds differ in origin, specialized testing equipment and professional grading reports are generally required to distinguish between them.
THE MEANING OF DIAMOND

From Alishan
to the World

Alishan Diamond brings together technology, the land, time, and human dreams to create a new generation of diamonds from Taiwan through CVD technology.
