英國廣播公司（BBC）的報導 ，全球最大的珠寶商丹麥珠寶製造商潘多拉（Pandora）宣布，將僅出售在實驗室製作的鑽石，並將停止有爭議的礦產鑽石的銷售。
成大電機系微電子所講座教授曾永華早在1990年代，研究出僅需一至二週，就能培育出5mm厚的鑽石，突破了以往得耗時七個月的培育門檻。

實驗室培育鑽石（Lab-Grown Diamond）公司 Diamond Foundry 在國際上聲名大噪，好萊塢巨星李奧納多也是投資者，2019 年底，Hearts On Fire 亞洲區前執行總裁謝淑英引進 Diamond Foundry 到台灣，並成立自創珠寶品牌 JOY COLORi，為這種鑽石取了個漂亮的名字—「未來鑽石」。
在美國，實驗室培育鑽石早已於 10 年前就出現，但直至 6 年前才開始跳躍式成長，可見市場的確需要花些時間接受新技術。那麼，JOY COLORi 在正式登台一年後，台灣消費者接受度究竟如何？

由好萊塢男星李奧納多狄卡皮歐等人創立的人工製造鑽石品牌Diamond Foundry，昨由複合式精品JOY COLORi引進登台，女星吳姍儒站台，日前被爸爸吳宗憲預測將在5、6年後生小孩，讓她笑回是「恐怖預言」，也呼籲「想當阿公的爸爸們，不要急躁」。
吳姍儒緋聞男友「毛帽男」已受爸爸肯定，她笑回「大家心照不宣」。至於終身大事計劃？她承認，曾想過28歲前結婚，但明年將奔3字頭，她雖說沒想過婚事，但也說「應該不至於到35歲（才結婚）。」並發夢說，若未來真被求婚，希望對方拿出36克拉鑽石，她要拿來做手環。
The 13th New Diamond and Nano Carbon Conference(NDNC 2019) was held at the scenic east coast of Taiwan from May 12-17, 2019.
The conference presented recent breakthroughs in the synthesis, physics, and application of diamonds and other carbon nanostructures, such as graphene and nanotubes. The program featured four plenary talks, 25 invited talks, oral contributions and 2 poster sessions. The conference venue was the 5-star Farglory Resort in Hualien at the entrance of the majestic Taroko Gorge National Park.
